Eglė mineral water is used to treat chronic gastric inflammation and reduced acidity of gastric juices, gastric and duodenal ulcers (non-acute), chronic inflammation of large intestine, chronic constipation, chronic inflammation of gall bladder and duct, initial stages of chronic hepatitis, gallstones, certain illnesses of the ureter and kidney stones (post-operative period), metabolism disorders, and diabetes (mild form).
 
Therapeutic effect of mineral water: regulates acidity of gastric juices, antispasmodic, stimulates secretion, anti-inflammatory, regulates metabolism, etc.
 
Time for mineral water consumption: when water is consumed 1-1.5 hours before the meal, it inhibits the secretion of gastric juices. Water consumed during the meal or 10-15 min. before the meal stimulates secretion of gastric juices.
 
Mineral water temperature:
Warm mineral water is consumed to treat heartburn, stomach spasms, chronic inflammation of the gall bladder, gallstones and chronic intestine inflammation with spasms and tendency toward diarrhoea.
Cold mineral water is consumed to treat lazy bowel syndrome and a tendency toward constipation.
In all other cases, mineral water is consumed at 30-40 °C, and frequently mineral water from the spring is consumed at natural temperature.
 
Mineral water quantity: recommended single dose is from ½ glass to 1½ (3-3.2 ml/kg).
 
Recommendations as to for which illnesses and in what manner mineral water should be consumed:
 
  • Chronic inflammation of the large intestine with increased motoric function: warm mineral water is consumed at doses of 100-150 ml 1-2 times a day. Time of consumption depends on the acidity of gastric juices.
  • Chronic inflammation of the large intestine: mineral water is consumed at doses of 200 ml three times a day. In case of a tendency toward diarrhoea, mineral water is consumed warm, and in case of constipation it is consumed cold.
  • Chronic constipation: 100-150 ml of cold mineral water before meal.
  • Chronic inflammation of the gall bladder and ducts, initial stages of chronic hepatitis: 200 ml of warm mineral water before a meal.
  • Illnesses of the urinary tract: 100-200 ml 4-5 times a day. Besides three usual drinks before meals, the water is additionally consumed 1-2 times 2.5-3 hours after meal. Such big doses, however, are consumed only if the function of the heart and blood vessel systems as well as circulation of water and salts is normal.

  • Gastric and duodenal ulcer (non-acute): warm water to be consumed 1-1.5 hours before meal. To be consumed quickly in big gulps. To begin with half a glass and then slowly increase to 3-4 glasses a day.
  • Chronic inflammation of large intestine with increased motoric function: warm mineral water is consumed at doses of 100-150 ml 1-2 times a day. Time of consumption depends on the acidity of gastric juices.
  • Chronic inflammation of large intestine: mineral water is consumed at doses of 200 ml three times a day. In case of tendency toward diarrhoea, mineral water is consumed warm, in case of constipation it is consumed cold.
  • Chronic constipation: 100-150 ml of cold mineral water to be consumed before meal.
  • Chronic inflammation of gall bladder and ducts, initial stages of chronic hepatitis: 200 ml to be consumed warm before meal.
  • Gallstones with gall bladder inflammation: 200 ml to be consumed warm before meal.
  • Diabetes (mild form): mineral water is consumed at doses of 200 ml thee times a day. Water temperature and time of consumption depends on gastric and intestine functioning.
  • Obesity: mineral water is consumed at doses of 200 ml three times a day. Water temperature and time of consumption depends on gastric and intestine functioning.
